It's Dr. Seuss week and the kids have been super busy learning all about Dr. Seuss and reading fun books. My son's school has open house next week, so the kids are enjoying all the fun crafts they're making, to show their parents.

The teachers have decorated their doors, hallways and lockers with tons of adorable Dr. Seuss themed decorations. I decided to jump in and help my son's teacher get everything decorated for next week.

I decided to go with 'Horton Hears A Who' for her door. I was able to get the kids in class to participate on this one.

First, I covered the door in yellow paper. I wanted something bright, cause it's Dr. Seuss! Then we painted a hand on each child and put them on the door to make Horton.  After hand printing all the kids (and the teachers!) we went ahead and made Horton's facial features and included the stems for the flowers that the speck sits on. Then we hot glued all the "flowers" onto the stems. Last night, I had glued tiny white pompoms onto shimmery large pompoms, that way I had a step out of the way. We punched out all the letters for "a person's a person, no matter how small" and taped them to the door.

As a side project, because the kids had already done a few crafts in class, we decorated the wall for 'Put Me In A Zoo'. This one was kinda frustrating, because the title is 'Put Me In A Zoo' but in the end, he goes to a circus. So, we went ahead and did the zoo cage and then the circus tent. Then added the kids' dogs all over the wall. I want to change this, because something about it makes me unhappy, but we'll see…Also, I blacked out the teacher's name, so the mustache is not part of that lol
