Resident Evil 4 remake reportedly takes spookier tone

The rumored Resident Evil 4 remake is reportedly taking a darker, spookier tone than the original game. A report from Fanbyte indicates that the game is not meant to be a direct one-to-i remake of Resident Evil iv, with plenty of new ideas being explored and changes being implemented.

Some of these changes come in the course of altering iconic moments in the game, such as having the hamlet attack sequence now take identify at dark. Capcom is also exploring the stories of other characters in the game such as Ada, looking into reworking the Assignment: Ada and Carve up Ways mini-campaigns from the GameCube and PlayStation 2 versions of the game, respectively.

Fanbyte's written report also corroborates prior information indicating the game was originally being developed by M-2, the studio that worked on Resident Evil 3 remake. The squad reportedly even asked original creator Shinji Mikami to work on the game, though he declined, staying in his role as head of Tango Gameworks, which is currently working on Ghostwire: Tokyo. Development has been moved to an internal segmentation of Capcom, though Yard-Two'south work was kept and that squad is withal assisting with the projection.

Capcom is also reportedly planning to announce the Resident Evil 4 remake sometime early into 2022, though game development remains hard at the all-time of times and these plans could change. Capcom is also currently working on DLC for Resident Evil Village, though it's not yet clear what this additional content will be composed of.
